The Society, which has been in operation for over fifty years, performs important functions in the areas of historical and archaeological research.
As a service to the community, the Society hosts a series of lectures during autumn to spring by a variety of renowned speakers, covering the topics of history, archaeology and natural history, both local and national.
All lecture meetings are open to the general public and no admission charge is made.
By becoming a registered member of the society you can give it valuable support and play an important part in its direction. Membership confers rights and privileges which are not available to non-members.
New members are welcome and may enrol at any meeting.
Annual Subscription Fees for session April 2023 to March 2024 are

Tea and biscuits are provided during the course of each meeting for which a voluntary contribution is requested.
